Why hello there sunshine.

What a wonderful weekend it has been! It's been pretty warm and sunny for February, although a couple of weeks ago we were all shivering are heads off from the record breaking icy temperatures. The British weather is seriously messed up nowadays. And not only that, and more importantly, my lovely friend Eva has been staying with me from Germany, we always have so much fun when she is over.
This is what I wore to the airport to pick Evs up, a little bit of a mess. But I am loving this shirt at the moment, and it was £2 from a charity shop, I had to sew some buttons on, but still!

Apologies for the bad self-timed photography (sometimes it's good to laugh at yourself haha).

On Saturday we set off for the seaside town of Whitstable, which is a short bus ride from where I live. Not only did we get to enjoy the sunshine on the pebbly beaches, but we also hit the charity shops to rummage for some bargains, and rummage we did!

Fish and Chips how good does this look? Still makes my mouth water looking at the photo. Oh so scrummy.

Bargain finds. A pair of polka dot shorts, blue play suit, pink striped shirt,  floral skirt and  white jumper.
Evs also dyed my hair for me. Do you like the cheesy before and after shot haha? It's a very subtle change, but it looks a little more natural I think, rather then all the yellowy tones. It's a nice, tiny change for now though. No doubt I will go light again for Summer though haha.

Oooo and finally, there is a lack of Sunday photos because I broke my camera, boooo. But do not fear, I got pretty lucky really. I found my instant replacement insurance, because I know these clumsy drops are inevitable with me, and took it to the camera shop. Thinking I'd get the exact same replacement, I was very pleasantly surprised when the kind man said the old one was no longer in stock and I'd have to choose a brand spanking new one as an equivalent, with no charge. Woooo, bonus of the day.

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend too, basking in the sun. <3

Apple of my Eye.

Hey hey hey, hope you are all having a good week. And have stuffed your faces with pancakes. My brain forgot to remind me to take photos, how annoying. But any who, happy belated pancake day. What was your chosen topping? My sister and I had to improvise with pineapple juice when we realised we had no lemons! So pineapple and sugar was my first, chocolate and strawberries my second...mmmm they were so good!
And after the pancake feast, I decided to give up biscuits for lent. BISCUITS, what a silly idea. As somebody quickly reminded me, tea will never be the same (well, 'never' being a slight exaggeration of 40 days). And being a sugar monster, this will be hard. Keep posted to see if I can do it!

This is what I wore to le cinema last night, Wednesdays are THE day to go to the cinema. And consequently, more often then none our date night of the week, so I can get all dressed up woo. The Woman in Black is so very jumpy, I literally did the two handed nail bite pose at one point.

I love these shorts, I've had them since Summer but haven't worn them much, but the shape is really flattering (yay for the flat tum illusion). The print is great too! The classic black blazer is having a revival moment too, after being rolled up under forgotten clothes for a while.

You may have noticed a fair bit of my wardrobe is from charity shops, I love charity shops! I have shopped in them since I can remember, and always find little gems. They are like an Aladdin's cave. Planning on doing a weekly posts on charity shop finds, so keep your eye out :)

Now I am off to have some biscuit-less tea. Stay dandy in the unexpected sunshine, Sam <3

A Simple Weekend.

This weekend was rather dull for me, if I wasn't working I was lazing about. I know, how boring. But I'm gearing myself up for a busy and exciting week so all is well, I can use this as a lame excuse.

So here are a few things that sieved through my mind in my days of laze...

Oh how I wish I was there. I've traipsed through
never-ending tweets and photos, stalking this event.
Oh yes, when it is on offer, I shall buy.
I enjoy the moments when I have just been paid and  wander round
Marks and Spencer's, oh the small joys in life.

So I have got myself in a rut, as I went a very long time without reading any book ( I know it's terrible), and then I felt a sudden urge to jump back on the reading train. The problem is I read these popular two, and now I'm scared I've read the best books first! I loved how they were both written, with the two points of view and/or change in time. So what do I read next? Any ideas?
For a little stroll, this is what I wore. A little
farmer-esque don't you think?  coat Land's End

tights Zara socks the boyfriend's  boots Zara
And now, this one gives feels a little Rihanna-esque. cardigan H&M top New Look

heels next
Finally, I thought this outfit would look cute with nude heels, inspired by a magazine page I can't remember. If only I had the guts and reason to wear these lovely heels out over the weekend. I always fear that I'm too tall already, so will just look like a giant if I wear heels casually haha. But they are so nice, and they are very comfortable too! So I guess that's a dream outfit.

How was your weekend? Hope you are all dandy. Sam <3

A Happy Valentine.

Yesterday was the day of all things love, and a day that I feel every girl secretly wants to look that extra bit pretty if you know what I mean? Yes, I fall for the hearts and pink cliché too, hmmph.

(turns out they are all presents from friends too)
My boyfriend and I opted for the cinema, and then dinner. The film was great! But being the classy couple we are, take out pizza at home just sounded so much better, especially as it was buy one get on free haha. It was actually a perfect valentine's, especially as I wasn't really expecting much because Jack is an advocate of the day being a huge money making bore. Booooo!
So I was surprised when he turned up with these :)

I also tried to be lovingly thoughtful...my hair down because that's how Jack likes it the most, minimal make-up with a flick of eye liner because Jack likes that too, pink varnish because it's valentine's and everything should be pink because that's the colour Jack likes my nails and a plait to the side because plaits just seem romantic don't they?

Anywho, what did you all do on Valentine's? Thanks for reading, Stay dandy. Sam xx

Today I bought a doughnut.

Hey there, this is my first ever blog! After months of umming and ahhhing I have finally given myself a kick up the bottom on this cold, dreary Monday. This is what I wore to a Starbucks date with friends; the layers are a necessity with all this bitter British weather, brrrrrr.

Today I also bought a hair doughnut (although we did shamefully buy a dozen edible ones too), after hopelessly wandering around a Claire's with a Christmas gift card. At first I was dubious of these funny shaped, spongy foamy things...but after seeing my friend put hers in I became intrigued, and gave them second thoughts. Her bun looked like perfection. And it's a bargain at £3.50, I know, you're thinking that isn't bargain-esque at all, but trust me!

The hair doughnut gave my bun the oomph I have been lusting over for a long time.

Thanks for reading, hope you are all dandy as cotton candy on this eve before Valentine's. <3 Sam
